Stephen Hawking Predicted How The World Would End

4 mins read

Professor Stephen Hawking, who died on March 14th, 2018 at the age of 76, predicted how and when the world would end.

Professor Hawking was the first to propose a theory of cosmology described by a combination of general theory of relativity and quantum physics, but he was equally obsessed by how the world will end, even authoring a “near-certain” end-of-the-world date.

The subject of how the world will end has always been very controversial. However, it has been revealed that Stephen Hawking finished a theory describing his forecast for the end of the world just two weeks before his death.

1. Our Cosmos Universe Will Fade Into Darkness

Hawking explained how this may happen in his ‘Into the Universe’ series.

“What, in the first place, triggered the universe’s growth, or inflation?”

When we can answer that question and completely comprehend the Big Bang, we will know the fate of the universe. The key to it all is dark energy, a mysterious source of energy that pushes space away even as gravity is pulling space together.

Although scientists don’t know how, it appears that dark energy gave the kick that expanded the cosmos. What seems to be clear is that the fate of the cosmos is determined by the behavior of this dark energy. Dark energy causes the pace of expansion of our universe to increase rather than decline over time, challenging beliefs of a Big Bang cosmos.

Hawking stated that if it gradually declines, gravity will gain the upper hand and, in 20 billion years or so, the universe would reverse itself and force everything back to where it started. Space on its own would shrink and this is referred to as the Big Crunch.

He believes that dark energy is more likely to fuel the universe’s expansion indefinitely. Everything will eventually expand out until the cosmos is cold and black. Everything will get so far apart that gravity will be rendered ineffective. Professor Hawking then advanced an alternate theory.

A renowned scientific magazine is reviewing Hawking’s final paper, titled “A Smooth Exit From Eternal Inflation.” In it, Hawking prophesied that when the stars ran out of energy, our cosmos would finally fade to darkness.

2. Earth Will Turn Into a Massive Fireball

Hawking, arguably well known for his work on black holes and the theory of relativity, has previously proposed that Earth will turn into a massive ball of fire by 2600. As a result, he believes that mankind will someday need to inhabit another planet or face extinction.

As the Earth is overpopulated, it will cause global warming and eventually cause the Earth to burn red. He predicted that global warming will turn Earth into Venus, with a worldwide temperature of 482 degrees Fahrenheit and followed by sulphuric acid falling down from the sky.

Therefore, he told a conference of scientists in Beijing, China that by the year 2600, the world’s population would be standing shoulder to shoulder, and the amount of power consumed would make the Earth burn red-hot. He made it really clear that he predicted that the Earth would turn into a giant fireball.

3. The Earth Only Has Another 100 Years

Began to fear that the Earth is going to be overpopulated in the future, Hawking projected that people would be forced to depart and repopulate somewhere. As in the documentary “Stephen Hawking: Expedition New Earth,” he cautioned that if humans do not evolve into a multi-planetary species and colonize other worlds, humanity may become extinct within the next century.

Professor Hawking believes that in order to avert extinction, we must fully utilize our technological potential. Climate change, overpopulation, pandemics, and our fighting ways will eventually catch up with us if we do not find another planet to live on. This was investigated in this year’s BBC Two programme ‘Expedition New Earth,’ in which the professor sought the help of engineering specialist Christophe Galfard to test the possibility of interplanetary travel. Throughout his interview, he also stated that the world has “reached the point of no return.” As a result, he predicted that the Earth has just 100 years to survive.

4. Robots Will Replace Human

Hawking also explain that there’s a huge chance that robots or artificial intelligence is going to replace humans and take over the world. Professor Hawking voiced concern that artificial intelligence may eventually replace humans.

“We must advance artificial intelligence development while simultaneously being conscious of its very real hazards.”

-Stephen Hawking

If humans produce computer viruses, someone will eventually develop AI that multiplies itself. With this, a different type of life that surpasses humans will arise.

Human aggression and the advancement of nuclear technology is also mentioned by Professor Hawking, he said that this is going to kill everyone at the end of the day. When asked what human trait he would like to alter, Hawking simply answered with a single word: “Aggression.”

He warned that it may lead to irrational actions, such as starting a nuclear war and destroying the planet. He also stated that there is no evidence of violence abating, and that the advancement of military technology and weapons of mass destruction might have terrible consequences. As the result, autonomous space colonies may be humanity’s best hope for survival.

5. Earth Can’t Accommodate Population Growth at Year 2600

Stephen Hawking stated during an annual meeting where specialists convene to discuss ideas about science and technology that the world’s population, which has been expanding every 40 years, will hit its maximum by 2600.

This exponential increase cannot continue into the next millennium; this dense population will have various demands such as housing, food, and so on, which will not be sufficient if only the earth is used.

6. Donald Trump’s Decision Might Be The Factor of Doomsday

Hawking also stated that Donald Trump may lead to the end of the world. The previous US President’s choice not to join the Paris climate change accord, which was focused on addressing global warming at the time. Representatives from around 200 nations attended the International Consensus to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Hawking stated that Trump’s failure to seize this chance will be the cause of the Earth’s annihilation.
